In today’s social climate, where what we watch, listen to, and scroll through often glorifies hyper-sexualized narratives, many young women waver between cultural pressure and spiritual conviction. Purity is mocked. Modesty is mislabeled. And faithfulness is framed as weakness.
In efforts to combat these false narratives, Virginia-native and Christian Rap Artist Jay Bizzze lets the Bible define what it means to be a strong and confident woman on his new anthem, BIBLE BADDIE.
Rather than competing with the culture, Jay redeems its language. The phrase “baddie,” which is often associated with aesthetics and allure, is redefined here as a symbol of spiritual strength, holiness, and bold devotion to Christ.
Over a crisp, minimalistic beat with icy trap synths and sparse piano notes that flicker like distant city lights, Jay spotlights powerful yet often under-celebrated women in Scripture, such as Hannah (1 Samuel 1–2), whose prayer life impacted generations, and Phoebe (Romans 16:1–2), a trusted leader in the early Church.
It’s lyrics like, “Shawty bad, she look like a model,” which Jay chants on the viral hook, that carry a far deeper meaning. Neither referring to Instagram nor runway models, but instead, calling the listener’s attention to women in Scripture whose godly character is exemplary. It’s these women of faith, courage, discipline, and devotion to God that make them “bad” in the best way.
And after highlighting these bold women of faith, in Verse 3, he concludes by holding a mirror up to the “BIBLE BADDIE” listening, serving as a reminder that holiness is not outdated, purity isn’t passive, and they, too, have an important role in God’s story.
