God’s Love Is In The Air! Romans 5:8
Valentine’s Day is a special day each and every year, but it was extra special for the city of Greensboro, North Carolina as they were delightfully treated to WinterJam! For 32 years, WinterJam has travelled the nation and brought the gift of worship, praise, and music of many genres. Ready to rock out? Prepare to headbang to Disciple! Feeling a bit more southern? Give your attention to newcomer Emerson Day. Looking for pure worship? Sing praise alongside the one and only Chris Tomlin. WinterJam is special and unique each year, and 2026 has proven to be exactly that.
PRE-JAM
An upbeat and warm welcoming “Pre-Jam” awaited the lucky fans who were able to make it into the arena first. New, up-and-coming acts provided a fresh set of new worship, with notable performances by The Heath Brothers, who brought an energetic sense of worship to the stage, as well as the vocally gifted Jeremy Rosado, who you may recognize from The Voice and American Idol.
EMERSON DAY
Emerson Day provided a lively introduction to the evening. With hints of country and rock, as well as an energetic show of emotion, Emerson Day won the crowd over in just three songs, including the recent hit “Get Behind Me’.
NEWSONG
Newsong is a delight to see each year, they have been a staple in the tour ever since they started it in 1995. The band brought the crowd back to a sense of classic 90s worship, mixed in with fun visuals on the big screens.
DISCIPLE
When describing Disciple, rock and roll is an understatement. Led by vocalist Kevin Young, the band provided what was arguably the most unique set of the night, with loud vocals and interactions. Visuals looked like they were pulled straight out of the 2000s! Kevin concluded the set by taking a big white flag and running down the aisles of the floor sections, giving a lot of the crowd a chance at high fives and fist bumps.
HULVEY
In case you forgot that it was Valentine’s Day, Hulvey brought plenty of reminders in red visuals and color schemes, as well as a performance of Love Like That, encapsulating the essence of the Love of God. He also played recent radio hits he shares with Forrest Frank, those being “No Longer Bound” and “Altar.” He practically ran miles around the stage, showing love to each side of the arena. He concluded his set with “Altar” on the B-stage, which was in the center of the arena, giving a new view to those on the floor!
MATTHEW WEST
Matthew West has been a known staple in the Christian music industry, as proven by his performances of “Don’t Stop Praying”, “Hello, My Name Is”, and his collaboration with Casting Crowns “Nobody”. Matthew is a storyteller and did not shy away from that personality trait, as he shared a story about being vulnerable and crying with a stranger who loved his music, only to find out that she thought he was Chris Tomlin. He also shared a story about playing “lifeguard” with his daughter, Lulu, when she was younger. Speaking of Lulu, she joined him on stage to help him perform his new song “Good”. He recently released a new devotional “Don’t Stop Praying”, and promised a copy to each attendee (all you have to do is buy one at his merch table!). Matthew was humorous in his approach to the crowd, and he made sure everyone knew that it was all for God and His glory. He concluded the night with a thought provoking statement: “The question is never “Is God speaking to us?”, it’s “Are you listening?””
KATY NICHOLE
Valentine’s Day was celebrated thoroughly here with lights, stage props, and red and pink vibes! Katy Nichole began her set with a loud “Are Ya Ready Kids?” which was pulled from the Spongebob Squarepants theme song. Katy resonated well with the youth of the crowd with fun songs like “Thorns” and deep songs like “When I Fall.” She spoke on mental health, sharing her personal struggles, which showcased her openness to the crowd. She stated “I promise you, He wants to hear from you”, which was a good reminder to the crowd that God is here through it all, no matter what you are going through. As a plus, Katy was very interactive with the crowd, sharing love, smiles, and waves to all sides of the arena!
CHRIS TOMLIN
As the main act of the evening, Chris Tomlin brought his all, as he always does. He began his set with classic and pure worship songs “Good Good Father” and “Great Are You Lord”, as well as some new hits like recent radio hit “How Good It Is”. The arena lit up with blue and purple lights, and the sound of thousands filled the room, all singing the name of Jesus and the Love of God. It was a surprise to hear him play “Thank You Lord”, a fun collaborative song which features Florida Georgia Line and Thomas Rhett. Chris invited the crowd to dance along to a new rendition of the song, and they took the hint. The night concluded with “How Great Is Our God”, perfectly summing up the point of it all. We have a great God, one whom we worship. What better way to do that than finding new and exciting ways to praise God, through many genres and varieties? Romans 5:8 (“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” NKJV) was quoted, perfectly encapsulating the meaning of this night, and tour as a whole. It is truly wonderful to see artists and bands of many genres all have the same goal: share the Love of God.
