Following the emotional depth of their debut single Fading Echoes, Christian rock band Brightstar returned with a powerful anthem for our times. Their latest single, FIGHT, released on June 6 2025, and brings together genre-blending firepower with a collaboration between Brightstar and legendary Christian hip-hop artist KJ-52.
With FIGHT, Brightstar and KJ-52 delivered more than just a song – they offered a message: in a world torn by division, there’s still room for kindness, faith, and the courage to take a stand. The track blends rock and hip-hop into a high-energy, soul-stirring production that refuses to take sides, but boldly proclaims, “We’re not taking sides. We’re taking a stand.”
FIGHT was co-written by Adam Wood and KJ-52 (Jonah Sorrentino) – a true cross-genre partnership.
KJ-52, a trailblazer in Christian hip-hop with multiple Dove Awards and a 30-year career, brought his signature lyrical intensity and heartfelt conviction. His verses on FIGHT are raw, redemptive, and razor-sharp – staying true to his reputation for speaking truth with clarity and compassion.
The song featured Garth Justice on drums – a seasoned musician whose credits include work with Reba McEntire, Michael English, and Rita Springer, among others. FIGHT was co-produced by Adam Wood and Dan Schmalz, and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Brad Blackwood at Euphonic Masters (whose credits include Evanescence, Third Day, Skillet, and Zach Williams).
But FIGHT wasn’t just a creative leap forward – it reflected Brightstar’s deeper mission.
Co-fronted by Adam Wood, an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene, and Jessi Enyiaku, a worship leader and advocate, Brightstar is more than a band. It’s a movement born from compassion, personal struggle, and divine purpose. Both Adam and Jessi are parents to children on the autism spectrum and are passionate about mental health, healing, and creating inclusive spaces for the neurodivergent. Adam also founded Autism and Faith, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to helping churches better support individuals with autism.
“Our songs aren’t written for perfect people,” Adam shared. “They’re for those barely holding on – for anyone who’s battled mental health, grief, or the weight of spiritual questions. We want them to know they’re not alone.”
Brightstar’s music, and especially FIGHT, continues to speak into the dark places with the power of
truth and hope.
