Confessions of a Traitor dropped a music video for new single “Still Haunted” which features HolyName and Heal the Hurt. This is a phenomenal metal collab. The lyrics are haunting (which is why the title makes sense) as it deals with loss and being unable to handle it. “I cherish the sadness, your ghost has driven me to madness”. Check out a message from Trevor of Heal the Hurt here and then check out the music video below. This is such a vulnerable, heartfelt, and needed song.
Behold The Beloved announced a new single called “Dear Martyr”. The single will be out on April 3rd! I cannot wait for this one! Check out the announcement here.
XIII Minutes dropped a lyric video for their newest single “Stay” (featuring Misstiq). A lot went through my mind as I was listening to and reading the lyrics to the song and it all circled back to how incredible music truly is. The emotions, memories, and creativity music can invoke in us is truly extraordinary. This song is no different and it truly is an emotional rollercoaster that resonated with me a lot. Some of my favorite lyrics include “while things may improve, I try to remove the part of me that’s grown bitter. Am I even worth saving, I know I’m destined for more. To step to the path that You’re paving or let my fears close the door”. Seeing the heartsupport info at the end made it all the more special to me. Check out the lyric video below.
Disciple is dropping a new single and video on Friday! It’s Resurrecting Reasons with a feature from Decyfer Down‘s TJ Harris. Check out the teaser here and the press release here!
Manafest dropped a lyric video for “No Turning Back”. Lyrics include “Had to fall to feel the climb, had to lose to lift my pride”. Check it out below! I wonder how many people have a Manafest playlist they use for the gym/to get themselves hyped up. His music is perfect for those instances!
Magdalene Rose dropped new single “Hey At Least I’m Feeling Something”. You can stream it on your favorite platform via here. The link also provides a quote about the meaning behind the song which states it “…sheds light on the cyclical battle of self-harm and the fight for healing. The song aims to rid the stigma surrounding the topic and help those who are struggling to know that they are heard, seen, and never alone”. This is exactly why the rock scene is so crucial and why I choose to support it so much. This specific roundup is full of bands speaking up on behalf of mental health awareness in one form or another, and that’s what we are known for in the community. Some people may be able to relate to this, but it was recently suggested to me that rock music caused my depression. What they don’t understand is that it’s not the cause, it’s a balm to help ease it. To feel understood, to know I’m not alone. Thanks to songs just like these. Check out the song below! Seventh Day Slumber dropped a lyric video for “Black Roses White Doves”. In the description they also share the meaning behind the song which says ” an invitation to your own funeral. This song speaks to the reality that you must die to yourself to truly live in Christ. Are you ready to die?” This statement is truly something I try to always focus on. This is so important in my mind that my one (and so far only) tattoo I have is the bible verse of “to live is Christ, to die is gain”. With that in mind, I resonate with the lyrics and the meaning of the song and I hope you all do too! “Will you fall in the fire so you can rise up from the flames”.
