Mossy’s Highlights W/E 11/15/24

Hey there, and welcome back to round two of my new “completely professional” roundup of the previous week’s top releases and music videos…

Top 20 Releases

I will freely admit this, SOFYKA has very quickly become one of my favourite artists over the last couple of years. There’s something so beautifully soothing about her voice and there’s a certain freedom to her music. Not to mention how authentic and creative it is!

Over time you’ll get to know me and my music tastes through these articles. Chill electronic and House vibes are featuring more and more in my life lately and this new one from Christian Singleton and Chris Howland is definitely going to be added into rotation. (A chill vibes JesusWired playlist may or may not be in development so send me all the chill/house vibes please!)

Whitsett dropped a pop punk cover of Steven Curtis Chapman’s Dive and I am so on board with this! Go on, dive right in… (Whitsett also proposed an idea of Capitol CMG releasing a WOW Goes Pop-Punk album and I am so in on that too!)

Speaking of covers, this Rock ‘n’ Roll cover of the Passion worship favourite Glorious Day by Caddy&Co is absolutely glorious! As are those triumphant guitars…

Wanna try something, go ahead and try something

“Wanna try something” that goes iiiiinnnn? Try HIM from Jon Keith and Miles Minnick!

The moniker WWJD hasn’t been this catchy since the WWJD bracelet fashion trend took the Christian community by storm in the nineties. Kudos George.Rose! (I wonder if I still have my WWJD bracelet somewhere…)

Need help getting in the zone? Konata Small and The Prizefighter are in your corner to hype you up. LET’S GO!

ben haydn pulls no punches in the hard hitting Oh My Lord

Honestly, a lot of Then It Ends’ music is outside of my comfort range most of the time but Clarity off their Closure album has been on repeat lately. What a beautifully emotive and heavy rock track! (You can watch the full Closure album here, prior to its release to streaming platforms etc next month)

The UK based artist LIONFIGHT is saying goodbye to his old self and bringingdeadlyback in this pummelling track which is a complete “cauldron of genres”.

Joshua Luke Smith’s latest album Liberated has been heavily speaking to my soul over the last week.

Caleb Gordon brings us the first of two vibey Christmas tracks featured in this week’s article as he highlights the Reason for the Season.

I haven’t had a chance to check out 404 chew’s full God Bless The Trap album yet but I’m really loving the vibeyly worshipful “Upon Your Gracious Waters”. (and, yes, vibeyly is a word, no need to look it up…)

I’ve been digging DKG KIE’s ‘dissertation’ from Demon Killer University

This remix from Lee Vasi and 1K Phew will seemingly never let me go

C4 Crotona, Dax Hamma and Scribe Music tell us some Fairytales…

Park 7 are crying out for someone to “Hold My Hand in the dark”…

…but it’s often in the dark where Hope Begins! Sanctus Real and Sarah Kroger wonderfully tell the story of our Saviour’s life in this heartfelt Christmas song.

“Life feels better in the daylight” according to Hunter Plake and Britt Nicole. Amen!

And, finally, Riley Clemmons’ new Christmas EP needs a mention! I could listen to Riley sing all day…

Top Music Videos

Have you ever heard Christmas music that’s as much of a vibe as this? Thanks Forrest Frank (and God!!) for The Present!

gio. and 678NATH dropped the 777 live style vibes on us

If you haven’t been bumpin’ Jackie Hill Perry’s Practice EP over recent weeks what are you playing at? C’mon man! and practice? really? The lyricism here is insane!

Stephen Stanley is pretty good at emotive music isn’t he? Well that’s what the signs are telling me anyway!

Zauntee cries out to God and takes a long look at himself in the mirror in SINNER.

Joshua Luke Smith and Alice-Lily are also reflecting on God’s goodness in “Good To Me”

Maverick City, Jordin Sparks, Anthony Gargiula and Chandler Moore remind us of God’s Constant-ness in this rousing soulful worship anthem. This song had a “perfect timing” moment in my personal life after a meeting yesterday.

David Leonard declares God is the God of This Place…

…and I Believe It!

Dee-1 is calling it like it is (and bringing VHS videos back apparently!)

Ever wondered what 100LBs of confetti looks like? Rend Collective’s Reap That Joy video provides you the answer at long last (you could probably also google it, I haven’t checked!)

The “Throwback Video That’s Been On Repeat” Section

This video has barely left my tv this week, been vibin’ out to it in the background on the daily! Madison Ryann Ward was getting her groooove on with this one!

The “How Ridiculous and Dude Perfect” Spot

This week there’s a video from both camps, lucky us! First up, Dude Perfect take on Steph Curry. Yeah, our money’s on Steph…

How Ridiculous answer the age old question “how high can you launch an anvil?” Yep, that age old question…

And that’s a wrap for this week! I’ll “see” you next Wednesday for the next roundup! (Spoiler alert, it’ll feature 1K Phew’s Let Go Let God EP!)

What were you digging from the week ending November 15th? Let me know below, I always want to find new music!

You can see all of last week’s new releases in our list here, and all of last week’s new videos here.

See y’all next week. Keep groovin’ and God bless!
