Hey rockers and welcome to this week’s rock news roundup! Check below to see what your favorite rock artists are up to this week.
Ashes Remain‘s facebook page is back! Some of you may or may not have known they got hacked a year ago. Just when all hope seemed lost, they were able to get it back. Check out their post about that here to learn more.
Nesdam‘s single “Joyride” now has a lyric video! Check it out below. “But I know that maybe one day I’ll see purpose for the times I almost felt I can’t survive. “
Lo Cloud dropped their lyric video for their debut single “Sleepwalker”. I feel like the theme of this song is essential to the Christian. The theme being that we can’t just stumble through our lives without purpose, without being intentional in what we are doing and realizing what we are called to do in this life. I watched the lyrics video and started to have some deep thoughts about the state of our Country and American Christianity and how we are so complacent in our lives. I see how corrupted we have allowed ourselves to become, how we have let culture infiltrate the church rather than the church infiltrate culture. We have let too many preachers tickle our ears so we can stay comfortable. All in all, Sleepwalker is a strong debut single, and I cannot wait to hear more!
Sean Rodriguez dropped a single called “It Is Finished” which features Kevin Young of Disciple. Bias aside (if you know me you know Disciple is my favorite band), this is still one fantastic song. It’s also a bit unique compared to the songs we usually talk about in these roundups. This is a song you want to hear when you need to be pumped up and to remind yourself of the hope we have in Christ Jesus. “Devil May try to fight it. Enemy may deny it. But the victory is already in stone. Like Thunder from the sky “I am” Roaring like a Lion”.
Matt Sassano dropped his latest single “Violated”. Check it out below. As the title suggests, this one is emotionally heavy themed. It breaks my heart knowing that even in the 21st century we still have modern day slavery in the form of trafficking. I applaud Matt for writing about this subject matter and not being afraid to delve into the harsh realities that surround us. To learn more about the song, check out the press release here.
Undefeated dropped their latest single “Rise”. Listening to this made me nostalgic. You see, I heard about Undefeated 4 years ago when I wrote about their Shadows EP in the 14th RNR edition. Seeing their journey has been a privilege, and this song is their best yet! “Demons run when I go to war, demons fall before my sword.” Check it out below!
RED‘s old drummer Hayden Lamb suddenly passed away. To learn more about how to help his family during this rough time, go to their post here. May God grant the family comfort and peace during this heartbreaking time.
Sonny Sandoval of P.O.D wrote a book called “Son of Southtown”. To learn more, check out the press release here and go to his post about it here.
Throwback song of the week is Break Me Down by RED.
That ends this week’s rock news roundup. I hope you all have a great rest of your week and may God bless and keep you all!
