Hey rockers and welcome to this week’s rock news roundup! Check below to see what your favorite rock artists are up to this week.
Ashes Remain dropped their latest single “Don’t Let Go”. Songs about mental health topics are part of why I love the rock genre so much. I feel this song in my soul, especially the lyrics “When you can’t sleep at night and days drag on”. I know how it feels to have sleepless nights and to feel stuck in cycles of days, weeks, or months of going through the motions, of not fully being there. But there is always hope and a light at the end of the weary tunnel. Check out the song below!
Odds of an Afterthought shared a live performance of “Bearer of Bad News”.
Zahna dropped a music video for “Pile of Pills” and the video is siiiick! I knew it would be with Exceleration Media involved, and indeed they hit it out of the park! Check it out below.
Jeremy Camp shared a live performance of “No Survivors”. It’s been a minute since I’ve seen him live, I really want to hear this song at a show now! It’s my new favorite song from him.
Skillet just dropped “All That Matters”. If you don’t know where Skillet stands, this song does a great job of being the sum of what they believe. The band stands for biblical values and John has taken some very bold stances since 2020 hit and the US has become a political upheaval/divide. If unpopular is a song about the band getting a lot of hate for their opinions, this song shares a tiny bit of why that is in the second verse. Many of you won’t be surprised to say I agree with these lyrics and the sentiment behind them. In the end they will live and die for their faith, family, and freedom. I would hope all Christians can agree with that sentiment, the importance of those 3 things.
All That Matters is a single off their upcoming album “Revolution” out on November 11th. I have a feeling this will be my favorite album of theirs since Comatose came out. Check out All That Matters below.
Throwback song of the week is much different this week than the normal throwback. Not my normal cup of tea, but they were a local VA band who went to LU and this specific song got to me as a teen. “El Shaddai” by Dogwood and Holly.
That ends this week’s rock news roundup. I hope you all have a great rest of your week and may God bless and keep you all!
