Classic Disaster Releases Their Debut EP: Too Blind To See

Rock News Roundup 198

Hey rockers and welcome back to this week’s rock news roundup! Check below to see what your favorite rock artists are up to this week.

Lacey Sturm announced The Kenotic Metanoia Deluxe Edition is dropping on June 28th. It will feature a brand-new song with Lindsey Sterling along with some other cool additions to the album. Check out the post about that here to learn more about the album, as well as more info about Lacey Sturm on the upcoming tour with Islander and Amethyst Michelle. I’m so looking forward to both the deluxe album and the tour!

Lacey Sturm’s transformational sophomore solo album Kenotic Metanoia is available now

Undefeated dropped their latest single “Insane”. Check it out below! I know I say this quite a bit with new singles I share of bands, but I’m always 100% serious. This is my new favorite Undefeated song. I love Meredith’s vocals in this one, as well as her “attitude” if that makes sense. The instrumentals compliment said attitude perfectly!

Foregone shared a teaser about new single “Lift the Fallen”. No release date as of yet but check out the teaser for it here!

Heal The Hurt dropped their second single “Where Our Hearts Divide”. Led by frontman Trevor Tyson, Heal the Hurt has hit us hard with yet another very difficult but important message. With lyrics like “Betrayed by the one I thought I could trust.” and “I’m pushing through the pain, it’s a battle every day. I’m leaving them behind, it’s where our hearts divide.” it gives a picture of someone who was in our inner circle that was extremely toxic for us. Someone we trusted but only brought us pain and heartbreak. Many of us will be able to relate to the aftereffects and feelings this song brings up. I love how the ending gives us a bit of hope after the toxic relationship ends. “The dawn is breaking, my spirits worth saving. It’s where our hearts divide”. Something else I take away from this is that we all have a voice, and we shouldn’t be afraid to tell our stories, each in our own unique ways. Please know you are worthy of love. You are worthy to have someone who won’t betray you. If something or someone is continually hurting you, it’s okay to leave. Forgive what needs forgiving, yes. But it’s not going to help anyone to stay in something toxic and continually depleting you of, well, you.

Caddy&Co shared the artwork for “Welcome to the Promised Land”, along with a quick (but amazing) backstory of how his old band/life brought about the album name after becoming a Christian. I find it a really cool full circle moment of how God uses situations to bring His glory. Check out the reel about that here! In said reel, he also mentioned “Hallelujah Lord”, which you can check out below! You can’t listen to this song and not be joyous and ready to dance for the Lord. Let’s gooo!

Classic Disaster just released their debut EP “Too Blind To See”. Check it out on your favorite platform via here or listen to it on youtube below! It is hard for me to pick a favorite off the EP. However, “To The Ground” reminds me a bit of a heavier “Game On” by Disciple so I will choose that one; Suffering is a close second! Great job Adam Castro, Josh Walker, and Zach Lillemoen. I hope to see you at a live show one day!

Manuel Calderon released his debut single “Who Do You Say I Am?”. A bit worship, but with a bit of rock as well. With the title being what it is, I thought it might be about us asking God the question, but Manuel actually did something cool and took a quote Jesus said (or rather asked). Jesus asked His disciples who do the people think He was, and after they answered, He then asked them “And who do you say I am?”. (Matthew 16, Mark 8, Luke 9)

“Dead men don’t rise and friends don’t die for lies. For what they believe is what they’ve seen, and not a dream. And just like they said He died and rose again.” Check it out below!

Throwback song of the week is Come Home by Relentless Flood. The music video below was shared recently to a facebook Christian metal group, and I found it odd/cool to see Marshal (lead singer) so young here. Check it out!

That ends this week’s rock news roundup. I hope you all have a great rest of your week and may God bless and keep you all!
