Rock News Roundup 197

Hey rockers and welcome back to this week’s rock news roundup! Check below to see what your favorite rock artists are up to this week.

A year after they created what I consider to be a masterpiece, Caleb Hyles and Lacey Sturm came back to recreate “Darkness Before the Dawn” as a metal version. As if there wasn’t already an epic team-up, Wolves at the Gate decided to jump in and be featured in the song. Record label “Judge & Jury” (with co-founders Howard Benson and Neil Sanderson) also worked on this one just as they had on the original, bringing a super team of rockers/metalheads into the mix on this. I honestly couldn’t have imagined the song having anything added to it until I heard it for myself. Somehow, they did the impossible and raised the bar yet again. Adding WATG into the mix was a stroke of genius! But don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself via your favorite ways to listen here. “Dawn is breaking, light escaping, shining through this empty vessel”. There is always hope, even when all seems lost. Always keep fighting!

Fight The Fade just dropped a lyric video for their brand-new song “Gangrene”. I was definitely not at all expecting this vibe from them, but I sure do love it! However, did anyone else have to google the definition of gangrene or was it just me? Reminds me of how Lacey Sturm helped me understand what Memento Mori means. Check out Gangrene below!

Kini (solo project of Hello Luna‘s Kenzie Coyne) just dropped her newest single, along with a music video for it! Check out “Better off Now” below! “Now I’ve been getting lost in my head again. All my thoughts say I’m dead to them”.

HolyName dropped a stripped-down version of their song “Fall on your Knees” featuring Aaron Craner. Check it out below! This version is very solemn, but also comforting. If you’ve never heard the original with Brian Head Welch and Brook Reeves, you can check that out here

AsFireFalls is dropping their debut album “Catatonic Misery” on June 14th. Check that out here! You can also listen to their single “Know You” below!

Manafest dropped his latest single “Soldier” featuring Greylee. The chorus to this is legendary and this is now my favorite song Manafest has ever dropped to date! “Pray for peace, ready for war. Gonna take a step, keep marching on, I’m a soldier.”. Check it out below!

Ignescent just dropped “Goodbye” featuring Jasen Moreno formerly of Drowning Pool and Billy Grey of Fozzy. Check out the lyric video below!  “With every tear I cry, this is not my last goodbye. Thoughts go buried to my grave. He makes me want to stay”.

3 Days Under is dropping their latest single “Fruit of the Flesh” tomorrow! Check out their post about that here. Let’s go!!

Jen Ledger just posted a teaser to her socials where all the members of Skillet are in what looks like a recording studio, and she titled it “Where the magic happens”. Check it out here! New Skillet music on the horizon? Maybe! We’ll let you know when we know!

Throwback song of the week is “Better Is One Day” covered by Kutless. I’m feeling nostalgic for youth group days, alright?!?

That ends this week’s rock news roundup. I hope you all have a great rest of your week and may God bless and keep you all!
