Faith Head shatters a year-long silence with the new single "Aberrations of Reality"

Rock News Roundup 174

Hey rockers and welcome back to this week’s rock news roundup! Check below to see what your favorite rock artists are up to this week.

John Cooper of Skillet‘s new book “Wimpy Weak and Woke” just came out. I’ve only read the first few pages so far but in the beginning of the book there is a story I heard John tell a crowd in Nashville in 2013. The story is about an awkward situation with a fan from many years prior. You will have to read the book to learn more! I’ve had my own fair share of awkward naivety where I didn’t know how to react to a situation that wasn’t appropriate so I can picture it quite easily. The book also touches base on something that he has talked about on his podcast. Society’s move to change word definitions. That subject is important to understand. If we don’t start on the same premise of what a word means, there can be no open dialogue or understanding. I am excited to read the rest of the book and see his other insights. If you would like your own copy you can go to his site here. And I would ask that you please pray for our society right now, that we would all humble ourselves, pray, and turn from our wicked ways.

"Heroic Truth Teller" John Cooper To Release "Critical And Timely Message" In Second Book "Wimpy Weak And Woke," November 14, 2023

Jared Bayless (of Bayless) announced that he is releasing a book called “Breadcrumbs”. Check out the post here and pre-order here

FaithHead announced their new single “Aberrations of Reality” will be coming out on December 1st. Check out their reel about that here!

Pillar is still keeping us in suspense, but not for too much longer. Another teaser post update shared with us to be on the lookout on their socials this Wednesday (November 22nd). Check out the teaser here!

Micah Ariss released a music video for “Titan”. These lyrics are so relatable! Some of my favorite lyrics are “Right away adrenaline turns into burnout” and “I want to make a difference doing whatever it takes. I’m here to bring change not reply to your hate”. It’s so easy to be passionate about something, constantly work at that passion, only to receive burnout. It is what you do when that burnout happens that makes or breaks the passion. On the other hand if you make enough ruckus or stand out in any way you will make enemies, regardless if you mean to or not. Those enemies can either make you flinch, or be the spark to you get you back on track and running towards your goal. Check out the music video below!

Manafest dropped a music video for his latest single “Cleanin’ Out My Closet”. As I said last week, this is my favorite single of his from the last few years. Check out the music video below!

Lacey Sturm newest album “Kenotic Metanoia” is out now! There is so much I want to mention about this album. But as I plan to do an article on the album by itself, for this my two cents takeaway is that this album is rock as a genre, but with a heart of adoration. From being in despair and crying out to God, to letting God fight your battles, to winning against the forces of evil, to worshipping God…this is such a beautiful heartfelt album and it witnessed to my soul. You can check out the youtube playlist for the album below, buy the physical copy here or go here to stream it on your favorite platform!

The throwback song of the week is Skillet Monster…but some of you may not know this version of it unless you are a Panhead. It’s a remix called “Unleash The Beast”. Check it out below! Some of you may remember they used this as an intro to their podcast for a minute, along with art drawings made by Ashley Blankenship. (example: go here!) That is how I came to find out about Cindy Blankenship. I, like so many others, think of her as a concert mom. I love you Mothership!

That ends this week’s rock news roundup. I will be taking off next Monday for Thanksgiving reasons. I hope you all have a great rest of your week and may God bless and keep you all!
