The Protest Deliver with Fiery "Dying Breath" + Rock News Roundup 167 & The Protest release hard-hitting single “Dying Breath”

Rock News Roundup 167

Hey rockers and welcome back to this week’s rock news roundup! It’s been a minute since my last roundup. But I’m back and ready to rock! Check below to see what your favorite rock artists are up to this past week(s).

The Protest just dropped a phenomenal new single called “Dying Breath”. With so many insanely relevant lyrics, it was hard for me to choose my favorite. But here is one of them! “Worth every dream that falls through our hands. Worth all the pain that we can’t understand. We will shoulder all we can bear. To show the world a love un-compared”. Dying Breath was released independently, and you can check out their post about that as well as new merch here. Listen to Dying Breath below!

Matt Moore also dropped a phenomenal single as well! Matt’s single is called “Tether” and it features Zahna. There are also other notable people involved in this single. Check out all who were involved via here! This single has a slightly different feel than what we know from Matt, but I’m here for it! This is one of my personal favorites of his. The lyrics are a great reminder that we all struggle in some form, even as a Christian. Please know if you have physical and mental health issues, you are not alone, and it doesn’t make you less of a Christian. You are loved. Make Jesus your strong foundation or your “tether”. Thank you, Matt, for continuing to be vulnerable and spread messages of hope through the darkness. Check out the single below!

Wolves at the Gate shared a music video for their metal cover of “Heathens” by Twenty-One Pilots. In the video it looks like they could be at a meeting such as AA or another anonymous group. Check it out below and get ready to mosh! Their new covers album Lost In Translation is out now, listen to it here.

John Cooper of Skillet is coming out with a new book with what is considered a controversial title, depending on where you stand. “Wimpy, Weak, and Woke” is that title. Check out the press release for that here! My personal opinion is that I loved his first book and although this title is pretty controversial, I believe this book is going to be a much-needed look at the philosophies and ethics surrounding our society today. Check out Cooper Stuff’s podcast for yourself to see where he stands on different issues!

Asfirefalls is teasing about new music coming soon as an independent band. Check out the reels here and here and make sure to follow them on social media to keep up with them when it drops!

Ignescent dropped a music video for their newest single “Not Today” featuring Kevin Young of Disciple. With lyrics such as “Not today Satan. You’re throwin lies out. Trying to bring my mind down. Take another shot. I’m not givin in.” It reminds me of Jesus in the desert and how we are called to resist the devil and he will flee from us. Check out the music video below!

Seventh Day Slumber dropped a new single called “Feasting on Vultures” featuring Kellin Quinn of Sleeping with Sirens. Check out the lyrics via their post here and the song below!

HolyName performed at Furnace Fest on September 23rd and there was a couple of epic featured guests brought to the stage to perform during their set! They played “The Sect” and Ryan of Demon Hunter came on the stage to perform his featured parts in the song. They also played “Creed” and my good friend Trevor “Talks” Tyson (who does a million things in this industry) sang the parts of Eric of xDeathstarx. Check out both videos below!

(And I’m just going to say this. Trevor, you KILLED it! I’ve said this many times, but I’m proud of you and thankful to know you. I cannot wait to see what amazing thing you do next!)

RED has now released their latest album “Rated R”. I think it’s definitely the best out of their last few albums. Check out the Surrogates music video below and listen to the album here. Let us know your favorite song off the album!

That ends this week’s rock news roundup I hope you all have a great rest of your week and may God bless and keep you all!
