Rock News Roundup 158

Hey rockers and welcome back to this week’s rock news roundup! Check below to see what your favorite rock artists are up to this week.

Lacey Sturm just released her latest single “Reconcile”. The song’s lyrics are convicting in the beauty of their wonderful visualization. “Oh, come and be reconciled. At the wedding or funeral pyre. Romancing pride to death”. It’s so easy to allow the truth you have within you to make you prideful and judgmental. Don’t let knowledge stop you from loving people first and foremost and knowing your own faults. “You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:5. Check out the song below!

While on the subject of Lacey Sturm, a couple months back Rock News Roundup mentioned that Lacey Sturm was featured in Caleb Hyles single “Darkness Before the Dawn”. Since then, one of our writers here at JesusWired dug deeper into how that single came to be. Check it out here

Seventh Day Slumber released their latest single “A Bullet Meant for Me”. With this latest single comes the second time in my life SDS has the words (or in this case, lyrics) I needed to hear right when I needed them. To others in my position, listen up! The instant gratification of having your senses dulled and your worries lifted for a few hours is not worth it. It’s not worth not being in your right mind and not controlling your words and actions. It’s not worth the immense depression that follows afterwards. It’s not worth the money spent. It’s not worth ruining your or someone else’s life. Please listen to the song below and know you are not alone! We are stronger together, so ask for prayers, talk to someone, and get help.

Micah Ariss released a cover of “Not Gonna Die” by Skillet. Micah’s cover of the song features Anna Ruth Parkin. This brought back the nostalgia of when I first heard this song. A great song to cover, and I especially loved the unique aspect added in at 2:44 during “When you fight back”. Check out the cover below.

Strength Betrayed released a visualizer/lyric video for their song “Murder”. This song belongs on a movie soundtrack. Check it out below and decide for yourselves if you agree with my assessment. “And my own are no friend of mine. Reveal this broken chaos. This world can’t quench my thirst. Before I face the fallen. I face what I have cursed”.

Behold The Beloved dropped a music video for their reimagined acoustic version of their song “Abandon Ship”. There is always something about slowing down a rock song that makes you think about the lyrics more, and honestly, this song is pretty convicting. “I showed you where to go. You chose to close your eyes and keep your heart at home. And now you feel all alone.” Check out the music video below! This acoustic version is off their new acoustic reimagined EP “No Surrender: Hope Will Arise”.

Wolves At The Gate came out with their cover of Thirty Seconds To Mars’s song “Attack”. It takes a lot for me to say I like a cover better than the original. WATG just accomplished that!  Check it out below and let us know if you agree with me!

This week’s throwback song is “Frontline” by Pillar. I will never not headbang to this song. “We got to lead the way!” Check it out below.

That ends this week’s rock news roundup. I hope you all have a great rest of your week and may God bless and keep you all!
