After a two-long year hiatus, Asian-American Seattle artist Juzo releases his new single ‘Deus Ex Machina’.
The title of the song derives from the latin phrase “deus ex machina” which translates to “god from the machine”, a term in which is described as an unexpected power or event saving a seemingly hopeless situation.
Often used in ancient theatre, the phrase originated from how an actor playing a god or goddess would be lowered on stage by a “mechane” which was the name of the crane device used.
“The goal of this song was to show the struggle of hoping within a hopeless place. I think those moments are when our faith is really tested, it can either break us or build us into stronger people.” – Juzo
Despite being focused on visual arts and graphic design, Juzo finds the opportunity again to share his heart through music, hoping that others would be able to resonate with his vulnerable message and lyrics.
