Rock News Roundup 133

Hey rockers and welcome back to this week’s rock news roundup! Check below to see what your favorite rock artists are up to this week.

Zahna just dropped her lit new single “Die For Something” featuring Nesdam, along with a music video. The music video shows Zahna having a near death experience. What happens after the near-death experience you will have to watch the video to find out for yourself. Check it out below! The song and video are both really well done, and I can tell that Zahna and Nesdam put their blood, sweat, and tears into this one. My favorite lyrics from this are “But all this time your will was that I rise. To understand my purpose is deeper than this life”

I also think it’s appropriate to mention my favorite Bible verse (and my tattoo), “To live is Christ, to die is gain”. Don’t be too afraid of death that you don’t live (and die) for what has true meaning in this world. Don’t let others make you compromise who you are in Christ Jesus. Be bold!

Kutless released their newest single “End of The World” featuring Kevin Young of Disciple. Hearing Kevin and Jon on a song together gives me chills. I don’t know if everyone was ready for the amount of face melting that was just released to the public! The lyric video for the new single is below, make sure to check it out! Some of my personal favorite lyrics are “I see it coming. Then or now we will breathe the name of Jesus.”, which we know is biblical truth. One day there will be no one who can claim God doesn’t exist. One day everything will be set right, and every knee will bow. Also: another is “It has begun. Choose your fighter.” Intentional or not, that line makes me think of Mortal Kombat and I love it!

I know I’ve said it before, but I’m going to say it again. It’s good to have Kutless not only back making music, but back in the rock community. They are a definite needed voice in this generation, and I hope many people listen to what they have to say.

Disciple released a statement about the issues that some of their albums have been having on streaming platforms. Check out their statement on that here. We are glad that “Back Again” is back on the platforms and that the band is on a mission to restore the others. If you have never listened to old school Disciple, you are missing out on some epic tunes!

Classic Disaster released their own version of the Christmas song “O Holy Night”. And when I say their own version, I absolutely mean they made it their own. It’s a metal fan’s dream for Christmas music. Check it out below and get ready to headbang and scream the lyrics!

Raid The Quarry released their music video for “S.O.S” featuring Logan Christopher. S.O.S is their first single off their upcoming album “Beyond These Castle Walls”, which comes out December 9th! The video takes place at a haunted house to help drive home the feeling of hopelessness, isolation, and depression that people can feel. However, as they put it, the song “…is a lantern in the night that declares you are loved and you are valuable.” You can check out their post about that here. My personal favorite lyrics from this song are “My thoughts plunge daggers in my brain. Feels like a prison inside me”. I think we have all felt that way at some point. Our thoughts can be our own worst nightmare. But we have to remember that what we are thinking is not how our story ends, and we are not alone!

Righteous Vendetta teased a cover of a country song (turned metal!). Check that out here and get ready!

Les Carlsen of BLOODGOOD released his first solo album called “He’s Coming”. You can buy the physical copy here! While on the subject of this awesome new album, Les Carlsen gave a shout out to The Protest and D.C Talk on one of his songs off the album called “The Jesus Freak Show”. Check out what The Protest had to say here! (and definitely check out the song, it’s a banger for sure!) We love seeing when the rock community comes together.

Last but not least: My song to feature as a throwback this week is “Love Hate” by Disciple. When I first heard this song, I didn’t listen to Disciple at all, only this specific song. I recognized the truth in the lyrics, and I experienced some of them firsthand. I felt things very deeply growing up and I didn’t understand how some could do such hateful, horrendous things. To this day, this song speaks to how humanity needs Jesus, and the lyrics still leave me emotional and calling out to Him. But it also reminds me to be the “love” in the equation and to be the change we want to see in the world. Check out the song below!

That ends this week’s rock news roundup. I hope you all have a great rest of your week and may God bless and keep you all!
