Take It From Shay: Do you feel stuck?

Stuck, we have all been there. Whether in traffic or life, it has happened to everyone to one degree or another. But, when that happens, do you stay there? Or do you try to move forward inch by inch? Safe to say, I have done both.

Like most of us, 2020 was one of the most challenging years I’ve ever faced. We’ve experienced a pandemic, some lost jobs, and for some, our mental health wasn’t the best. Our lives were flipped upside down. In those moments of feeling stuck and unable to move, it’s hard to know what to do, especially when there’s no motivation to keep going.

Personally, 2020 brought a lot of heartaches, pain, loss, confusion, depression, and anxiety for me. I just felt stuck, unable to move. I was in a dark hole, unsure if the light would eventually break through. Mentally, I was falling deeper and deeper. What I failed to realize at the time was the Light was always shining; maybe I didn’t want to see it because I was now in my comfort zone.

I truly believe during this time of chaos, confusion, and heartache, God was calling me to come back to life in Him again. To find pure joy in Him. There’s a joy that only He can provide, not from work or significant others or anything else, only in Him. Jesus is the Light of the world (John 8:12), and in Him, there is no darkness (1 John 1:5). The Light promised He would always be with us, even to the end of ages (Matthew 28:20). He doesn’t want us to be stuck in the dark, afraid to move. He wants us to have faith that He will work all things out for our good and His glory. God wants us to keep our eyes open and focused on the Light. I know it may be a struggle right now, but God can break apart whatever has kept us trapped or stuck from enjoying Him and enjoying the life He gives us abundantly.

Take it from Shay, when it seems like you can’t move forward, that’s the moment you have to give every ounce of faith you have and allow God to carry you out of that pit. Trust in Him and His love for you. Take one step at a time if you need to. It may not happen overnight, but believe that morning is coming, and the Light will shine so bright on you and fill you with joy.
