Christian recording artist, author, speaker and influencer Maddie Rey is set to share an expanded edition of her bestselling book, DWELL: Empowering The Next Generation To Live The Life God Intended, on Nov. 16, exclusively on Amazon. The revised version, slated to include new additional chapters, builds on Rey’s personal mission. As a pastor’s kid, she’s seen many of her friends who grew up in church grow up to be adults who leave the church. Based on Psalm 27:4, DWELL is her response to this alarming problem as she shares her personal testimony, addresses the issues plaguing her generation and provides step-by-step instruction on how to stay planted in the local church even when you feel like abandoning it altogether.
“Growing up as a church kid, you often feel like you don’t have a testimony because you’ve never gone out into the world and experienced all that it offers… I understand all of that, and I want to help you gain the GREATEST TESTIMONY of all time! And that is…to DWELL!” Rey says of the message behind her popular book. “I can’t tell you what it’s like to drink, smoke, party, or be promiscuous. But I can tell you how to live your life on fire for Jesus, how to never walk away from your faith or the church, and how to use your gifts and talents to glorify the Lord!”
Additionally, the 23-year-old vocalist recently debuted her self-penned original track, “Deserve Your Love,” which boasts of the unmerited, grace-filled love of God. Rey, who has shared the stage with seven-time GRAMMY® winner TobyMac and hip-hop artist Steven Malcolm, is currently putting the finishing touches on an accompanying music video for the song, set to premiere Oct. 8. “Deserve Your Love” is the latest in a string of empowering anthems and vibrant visuals that combine Rey’s love of pop, rock, rap and worship and blend her natural talent for performance and dance. The powerful ballad joins five additional tracks released since the beginning of the year, including “No Bad Days,” “No More Lies,” “Never Let You Go,” “Glory,” “So Good” and “Tellin Everybody.”
Specifically expanding on the intentional and timely themes of “No Bad Days” and “No More Lies,” Rey has created a treasure trove of unique resources—including e-books, prayer guides and mini devotionals—that point people toward finding their true identity and purpose in Christ. Preaching to the choir, the fashion-conscious influencer has designed special apparel pieces to complement each of her newest releases, with fashion-forward T-shirts, hoodies, jewelry and more radiating messages of truth and positivity.
The energetic singer and performer has been ministering to her peers since she was 12. In the past two years alone, she’s performed on more than 50 major event stages across the country. At home in Waukegan, Illinois, she continues to serve at the church her parents founded, Church of Joy, where she hosted The Encounter Live, a weekly youth-oriented live production, leads a youth service every Thursday Night as the Youth Pastor, and preaches frequently to their adult/family congregation. Moreover, the magnetic influencer begins each week by encouraging her fans on Instagram with a “Maddie Rey Monday” post, where she shares a brief video, a Scripture verse and an impactful word of encouragement.
