On the cusp of the August 27th release of their fourth studio album Innocence & Danger, NMB (Neal Morse Band) releases their third single with a corresponding video for “Your Place in the Sun“.
Legendary drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment) says this about the track, ‘This was another seed that Randy (George / bass) brought in…it originally had a bit of a Steely Dan/Joe Cocker shuffle to it and we then gave it the NMB touch. The end of each chorus has a cool Beatle-esque tag that Bill brought in. Like all my favorite NMB songs, it features 4 of us sharing the lead vocals.”
Watch Mike Portnoy talk about the album’s first 3 songs/singles on this commentary clip:
If you love the artform of music coupled with world class musicianship and meaningful, Christian-themed lyrics, Neal Morse Band is definitely worth exploring. Don’t miss the opportunity to see them live.
