An Interview with David & Jessica Oyelowo about The Water Man Movie & What Love Does Single
Jesus Wired’s Correspondent Jessica Grace hangs out with Director David Oyelowo (and wife Jessica) to get the inside scoop on work/life balance, family, and the movie The Waterman, which premiered on May 7, 2021. This inspirational film was created to bring generations together to spend time and experience adventure, love, sacrifice, hope, joy and overcoming adversity. David’s hope is that it will spark conversation between the family. Jessica’s conversation with David and Jessica highlights the most memorable parts of the movie and emphasizes the importance of family, while also celebrating the musical accompaniment of the song “What Love Does” by David’s wife Jessica.
In THE WATER MAN, Gunner (Lonnie Chavis) and his mother (Rosario Dawson) share a special bond, but when his mom’s illness worsens, he disappears into stacks of books on both science and the supernatural in search of possible cures. After learning about the mythic Water Man, who may carry the secret to everlasting life, Gunner and his rebellious friend Jo (Amiah Miller) go on a quest into the Water Man’s mysterious forest. Facing challenges and dangers they never imagined, the friends’ hope for rescue lies with Gunner’s father (David Oyelowo), who must immerse himself in his son’s world to follow the clues that will lead him to the kids and put his family back together.
