KALEE bandmates, Kalee Stikeleather and Christian Black have released another follow-up single after their debut singles, “Not Afraid” and “Come Awaken” which received raving reviews and followers desiring fresh sounds in their feed.
Their newest single, “Haven of Rest” featuring good friend, Carlos Rising, invites listeners to be inspired by the merging of the old with the new. During the depths of quarantine in 2020, they were captivated by this old hymn and the meaning behind “Haven of Rest.” Using imagery to convey the deep intentions of what one’s heart desires, the lyrics became an anthem for what we needed to be reminded of during tumultuous times. The journey in creating this song led to finding the best organic sound to fit their identity and they didn’t shy away from creating a unique arrangement with an uplifting beat.
Produced, recorded, and mixed with close collaboration gives the song a genuine voice to stand aside from the original. The instrumental pieces bring a mix of genres that shine in pop, alternative, hip hop, and worship. Keys highlighting an airy tone to create a harmonic sound with the guitar parts and drums leading with lively energy in rhythm and syncopation. One can’t help to join with this beat as they listen to the song.
KALEE’s vision in creating is to pioneer unguarded authentic music that illuminates the heart of the Father. They hope to let this style of worship lead listeners to the awareness of the Father’s promises over the unstable daily problems that arise.
