Hey guys! We are back at it with another round of rock news, so let’s take a look!
I know many of us are probably hoping to attend a concert again soon and wondering when things can get back to normal. Many concerts and festivals have cancelled this year, however there are at least two that as of now are planning on still moving forward, Kingdom Come Festival and Chains Unchained Festival. Kingdom Come Festival has however changed their original dates, the new dates is July 10th and 11th. You can read more about that below. You can also watch the promoter of Chains Unchained talk more about their festival still being a go here.
Lacey Sturm’s new song “The Decree” is coming out tomorrow and she has made a little teaser video about it! The teaser has the words “The time’s not near…it’s here”. Make sure you tune in tomorrow, or rather tonight at midnight! You can also check out a graphic image for it here.
Seventh Day Slumber is in the process of making a worship album, and not only does it seem like they are getting closer to finishing it, it also seems like they are having a lot of fun while doing so! Check out this cool video featuring Ken Reed, their bass guitarist.
Sarah and Mark Anthony of The Letter Black did a live video for their fans this past Friday. In the video they played their song “There Will Come a Day”. Afterwards they talked about a lot of different things, including different on stage concert experiences they have had. They ended the video by mentioning working in the studio on new music and how “it’s like a whole new genre…whaaat?” and “It’s cool, people!” If you want to keep updated on this and the band itself, you can sign up for their email at https://letterblack.com/
The band Switchfoot shared a video live from their studio in hopes of reminding people that even in these desperate times “that fear is not the final word”. They also made mention that in these times “as a musician it’s time to go to work and to begin to sing songs that try and process all of this” and “that’s why we’re in the studio”. We are so thankful for the reminder and cannot wait to hear what they come up with in the near future!
Jarob Bramlett of The Protest illustrated a children’s book called “There’s Always Room At Our Table” by Jill Farmer, which is available for preorder now! What a fun way for kids to learn important and spiritual life lessons.
Relent’s new single “Low” has now been released to the public, including a lyric video for the song! In the description of the video it says this,
“There is something very powerful about the words “I’m not ok.” Often because of keeping up appearances or the need to be strong for others, we fall under a false belief that everything’s supposed to be perfect and we should be exempt from life’s problems including suicidal thoughts, addiction, and pain of all kind. There will always be tough moments, but God will never leave us. In fact, He’s our strength in our weakest moments. Stay strong, keep your head up and remember it’s ok to not be ok. You can also see their post about the re-release of their first record here, coming out May 22nd!
And last in our roundup is Skillet. Skillet announced just a few hours ago they have a sequel planned for their graphic novel! It will be called ‘Eden II: The Aftermath’! You can preorder a signed deluxe edition now.
And that’s our roundup for this week! As always, thank you for tuning in to see what’s going on in the Christian Rock world. See you all next Thursday!
