Yesterday was World Suicide Prevention Day but sadly saw the loss of beloved pastor and writer Jarrid Wilson to suicide. Along with his wife Juli, Jarrid founded an organization called Anthem of Hope which is dedicated to helping people dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts. Jarrid was very open about his own struggles with depression and did his best to help himself and others overcome it and suicidal thoughts. Sadly his personal fight came to an end yesterday, leaving behind his wife Juli, his two sons, Finch and Denham, his mother, father, and siblings.
A fundraiser for Jarrid’s family has since been setup to at least ease the financial burden left upon the family. All proceeds from this fund will go directly to Juli Wilson, Jarrid’s wife. Funds will be used in any way the Wilson family deems appropriate.
If you feel led to donate to this fund, you can do so here.
If you missed the news, Harvest Christian Fellowship senior pastor Greg Laurie’s statement is embedded below.
If you’re struggling with suicidal thoughts please don’t give up and reach out to a friend or a professional. They will listen, contrary to what your mind tells you. You’re not a burden, far from it. You are loved more than you will ever know. You do have hope, a future and a destiny. You do have a purpose!
