Geoff Hunker & Dave Willey Talk Satellites & Sirens’ New Album Tanks
Satellites & Sirens recently released their sophomore release on DREAM Records, Tanks, and earlier today I had the chance to chat with Geoff Hunker and Dave Willey about the new record. Check out the interview below to find out all about how Geoff & Dave’s personal testimonies, how the band got it’s name, their favorite songs from Tanks, their thoughts on streaming music and much more.
Two years after the group’s debut on DREAM, One Noise which included their smash hit, “Jump Start My Heart”, the band comes back with a veracity of love, hope and joy in their new album Tanks. This 12 song album has a musical plethora of sounds and features one track with DREAM Records artist, Joel Vaughn. The theme of the album is “Love Is The New Fight”.
“We live in a world that recently feels so filled with hate. I know it has always been there but it seems like racism, war, bullying, and just a lack of care for others has become the focus of so many news stories and Facebook posts that it’s in front of us more than ever. “TANKS” came from the idea that we as Christians are called to love even in the midst of all that this world could throw at us and if we chose to combat these things with love and make our “heart beat louder than the cry for war” then maybe we can make some changes.” – Geoff Hunker
The album has been getting the attention of press and peers. Check out what others are saying about TANKS.

“Satellites & Sirens have always been masters of breaking genre boundaries. This new album is no exception. I love how songs swing from the 1975 throwback guitars to One Republic pop influenced vocal stylings and then seamlessly dives into these hints of hip hop programming elements. These boys are back with a vengeance.” – Sam Tinnesz
“Satellites & Sirens continue to blow me away with their insightful, introspective, and thought provoking songs. TANKS is both melodically and lyrically inspiring and it is a reminder for us to show the love of Christ in a world that can sometimes feel like it’s so full of hate. If you haven’t heard TANKS yet then it’s time to get started. #Loveisthenewfight” – Joel Vaughn
