Track: Like A Fire
“Like a Fire” has been playing on repeat for this majority of the week. Accompanied by my reading and doing of spiritual exercise, the lyrics of this song began to resonate more and more.
Jesus I’m desperate for You, Jesus I’m hungry for You.
Jesus I’m longing for You – Lord You are all I want.
Like a fire shut up in my bones I want the world to know, You are God.
With a passion burning deep within, I want the world to know that You live.
Let Your presence come and saturate every part of me, make me new.
Let Your Spirit come and move within, fill me once again ‘cause I need more.
Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather train yourself to be Godly. For physical training is of some value, but Godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. (1 Timothy 4:7-8, NIV).
We need to dedicate ourselves to daily spiritual exercise in one way, shape or form. Whatever you choose to do, whether you pray, sing or immerse yourself in the word, it is daily commitment that will help you respond to everyday situations. It is daily commitment that will see you Spirit filled.
You see, through spiritual exercise we develop the power to overcome. We’re able to draw nearer to Him and we can become more in tune with His will for us. The more time we dedicate is the more we open ourselves up to God and grow in Him.
And just as Planetshakers sing about longing for the Lord and having passion, having a hunger and a desperation, I pray that we too can hunger for the Lord and be desperate enough to seek Him out today, this week, this month, this year.
May you be blessed.
