For the second year in a row, Christian hip-hop artists Life Through Colors was recognized at the Alabama People’s Choice Awards.

The Montgomery, Ala.-based group received the award for Contemporary Artists of the Year during the 9th annual ceremony held Jan. 31, 2015 in Birmingham, Alabama.

The award comes on the heels of the release of their mixtape called #Barz, which was made available as a free download in November.

I thank God for the opportunity to represent him and I’m thankful for being recognized for our efforts,” said group member Rockette. “I give all thanks to God,” said T. Pope. “It’s just a blessing,” said Jimbo the Jet.

During last year’s awards, the group received awards for Hip-Hop Artists of the Year and CD of the Year for their album “Aftermath”.

The ALChris Entertainment Media Productions Inc. produces The Alabama People Choice Awards. The ceremony honors Alabama natives from the past and present.
