Tenth Avenue North Speaks Out Against Slavery With New Music Video

Popular Christian band Tenth Avenue North has just released a music video for their song “For Those Who Can’t Speak (ft. Derek Minor and KB).” With over 40,000 views in only 4 days at the time of writing, the music video has been seen by many around the world, and the feedback has been nothing but positive.

The music video starts with lead singer Mike Donehey looking over at the lit up New York City skyline where he appears to be deep in thought. Then the rap intro begins with rapper Derek Minor in an elevator. The band members and KB are then all seen going towards different buildings throughout New York City. At this point during the first viewing I’m sure I can speak for many that interests were piqued, with questions of where the video was headed, and what the guys were doing being asked. The rest of the video is filled with the band members running into various rooms in office towers turning on lights, mixed with clips of the band playing, and Mike and KB singing separately.

The end of the video is what has everybody talking. At around the 2:50 mark of the video we see a crowd gather in the same location the video started. They are all taking pictures of the skyline where it all began. This is where the camera finally reveals what they are taking pictures of. The lights on the buildings that were being lit up throughout the video revealed the message: “#SlavesNoMore”

This video has been received so well by many, not just because it’s a music video by a great band, but because of the message it is sharing. “For Those Who Can’t Speak” is a song about using our voices to help those who don’t have a voice. The song was inspired by the 27 million+ slaves around the world who don’t have a voice, and the fact that we have the ability to make a difference and end it.
