Confidence is described as the feeling or belief that one can have faith in or rely on someone or something. We can often hold a belief in something or rely on someone but eventually, we get let down. The truth is, nothing in this world can hold our confidence like the Lord. He is ever faithful and He never changes.
The God you love today is the same God you loved yesterday. He is the same God who has brought you to a place of happiness; the same God who brought you out of the darkness. The God you love right now is the same God that parted the Red Sea and freed the Israelites. The God you trusted in for that situation is the same God who sacrificed His son for you. He has never failed. He is the Solid Rock; the One who makes a way when it seems there is no way.
“Your love has been so good to me, it’s so unfailing, My heart is in your hands, You hold the master plan. I’ve got confidence, so much confidence in You, I’ve got confidence, so much confidence in You. Your Ways are higher and Your thoughts are Deeper, I can’t even imagine how You do what You do but You do what You do; I’ve got confidence, so much confidence in You.”
Nothing is possible without Christ and the confidence we hold in Him, that faith; it will last a lifetime. Confidence in man, however? This is what the Lord says: Cursed is the one who trusts in man…(Jeremiah 17:5 NIV). Psalm 118:8 also tells us that it is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust humans. Trusting in others will only bring you so far and nothing can be done through your own initiative (John 5:30), for He is the vine and you are the branches. If you remain in Him and He in you (John 15:5) then your life shall surely be blessed.
I pray that your reliance will be on the Lord. May the foundation of your confidence be built upon Him who made you in His image. May you trust in His words and be able to say that “I’ve got confidence, so much confidence in You”.
