“Tell me why do I go astray when He promised He’ll make a way? Tell me why do I fail the test when He said I would be blessed? Though sometimes my life gets me down to the ground… I will trust Him, believe Him, never doubt Him, no. Trust Him, believe Him, never doubt Him, no.”
We’ve all been there.
God has said something to us and we’ll either accept it or we’ll feel down for a while. We’ll doubt Him and we might even question His response to our situation. Sometimes we’ll even continue to pray for what God has said ‘no’ to.
We’ve all done it.
I’ve done it.
Sometimes it’s hard for us to see what God sees for us. Sometimes we don’t see it at all but we must have faith. We must understand that He has something great in line for us. A promise. A plan.
We often forget of the plans He has for us, plans to prosper us and give us a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We often forget that He knows best and that He is the author. We often forget that our God is in control.
You might have forgotten and you might have gone astray. You might have failed the test but it’s done now. Just put your trust back in the Lord. Do not fear and do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10 NIV).
Continue to fight against those contrary thoughts and feelings that crowd your head. Continue to fight against the ‘what ifs’ and ’whys’ that undermine your faith in the Lord.
Please, know that His grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:8). Know that the Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged (Deuteronomy 31:8).
Sometimes we might find it difficult to trust God and other times, we might feel that it’s downright impossible. But the truth is, the plans He has for us are better than any you or I could ever dream of.
The tests we face now will prepare us for future tests. Sometimes He closes the door on us in order to open a better one. And life will, at some point, get you down to the ground but, consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance (James 1:2-3). Know that whatever you’re facing right now is bringing you towards the will the Lord has for you.
Whatever you’re facing right now and whatever is to come, I pray that you will trust Him with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
