What was originally planned as simply an anniversary trip for Laura Harris Smith and her husband, Chris, recently turned into a full-fledged media tour throughout the U.K. The author/speaker used her time abroad to share the message of her recent book, Seeing The Voice Of God: What God Is Telling You Through Dreams & Visions, with a number of British media outlets. The book, from Chosen, a division of Baker Publishing Group, also hit the No. 1 sales position at a London bookstore in the weeks following Harris Smith’s on-site booksigning.
“My husband, Chris, and I were headed to London for our 30th anniversary this Spring and felt strongly that God was going to bring some opportunities for the new book,” says Harris Smith. “Two radio interviews were scheduled with Premier Network in London, but then days before the trip, one of my daughters had a vision that three more doors would open for me in the U.K.”
In addition to her interviews with Premier Radio Network, U.K.’s “Premier Drive” and “Woman to Woman” shows, Harris Smith was invited to appear on United Christian Broadcasters (UCB), U.K., which was heard in Scotland, Ireland, Wales and throughout Great Britain. The author was featured at a booksigning at the CLC Bookshop near St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, where Seeing The Voice Of God claimed the retailer’s No. 1 spot following her visit. Harris Smith also met with executives at Lion Hudson Publishing in Oxford, U.K., the company that represents her book in the U.K.
“Sure enough, my daughter was right,” says Harris Smith, “and from those three doors have come many, many hallways of endless opportunities!”
In Seeing The Voice Of God, which was released in January, Harris Smith demystifies nighttime dreams and daytime visions, revealing the science behind the supernatural, giving believers a biblical foundation for making sense of what they see, and citing medical research on which vitamins and minerals improve dream recall. Chapters discuss how to discern if a dream is from God, the 10 most common types of dreams, how to understand if dreams are for the present or the future, and how to interpret dream symbols and imagery by using a comprehensive Dream Symbols Dictionary with more than 1,000 biblical definitions.
“Laura demystifies the whole subject of dreams in a practical, Biblical and accessible way in an engrossing and enlightening read,” says Steve Best, program director, music coordinator and Drive host on UCB Inspirational, UK.
“Laura is a bubbly communicator with an important message for all believers: we can hear the voice of God as we sleep,” says Maria Rodrigues, host of “Woman to Woman” on Premier Radio Network, U.K. “It was great having her in London to challenge us to think about the potential our dreams have as tools for gaining God’s wisdom in our every day lives.”
“Laura Harris Smith is an interesting and engaging guest who shows fascinating insight into the phenomena of understanding our dreams and what God might be saying to us through them,” says Loretta Andrews, presenter/producer of “Premier Drive” on Premier Radio Network, London. “Her book offers in-depth and practical advice for anyone who wants to get the most out of their dreams.”
