Jo’s Devotions 04/14/2014: Passion vs Personality

We were all born different; some with strong characters, others weak. Some were born leaders; others, loyal followers. Together, we make the world as it is.

Some were born to live in the limelight; others to be at the backstage, working behind the scenes…the world just happens to function that way.

We were all born unique. Some may feel more ordinary than others; but we are all different. What is important is that we stay true to ourselves and be the best of what we were born to be.

The fact that God exists in trinity shows how diverse He is and that is why although we seem so different, we all portray His image. Our God loves variety and that is why earth is not the only planet He created. The stars He created in vast numbers, some larger and brighter than others but they all work together to give us the beautiful view we crave to see each night.

So whatever personality you have been born with, thank God for it. Because in it is where He planted your passion. And in His infinite wisdom, He gave you your passion to match your personality. So do not try to be someone else. Everyone has his own cross to carry. Do not abandon yours to go pick up someone else’s. No one can bring your passion to life better than you can.

So if yours is to bring a smile to thousands on a big stage, or if it is to help the big guy get on stage, do it heartily. Whatever you do, do it cheerfully and wholeheartedly to the Lord’s service.

So when you wake up every morning, look at yourself in the mirror and say,

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well”-Psalm 139:14 (KJV).
