From birth, life has been all about becoming a better person than the previous day. We have been socialized to have a purpose in mind and work tirelessly to see that purpose become a reality and ultimately a legacy. Urged to fulfill the “American Dream,” we live each day sometimes pushing against our limits not to let ourselves and families down.
It is good to dream; not to dream is to cease living. It is why even on our sick beds, we fight to get better because we have a dream to build; it is why whenever we fall, we don’t stay down but get back up, brush the dust off us and continue the journey because no one can fulfill our dreams better than us. No one can understand our vision better than us so it is more or less up to us to see them fulfilled.
God knows what we desire in this life; because He puts them on our hearts. And because He created our dreams, who better than He can help us see them through? This makes it necessary for us to seek after Him and His Word and He in turn will see to our desires satisfied.
One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple-Psalm 27:4 (KJV).
Worldly pleasures try to fulfill the insatiable desires of the flesh but only God’s Word can nourish and satisfy the soul and spirit. Instead of opting for selling your soul to gain the flashy but fleeting things of the world, why not choose the path of life and get all your heart desires as bonus?
