Joy to the world! The Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King!
Let every heart prepare him room!
And heaven and nature sing!

This is indeed the day the Lord has made! Let us all rejoice and be glad in it. Christmas is with us again and it is a big reason to give God thanks and praise. It is a time everyone looks forward to; to find some rest, spend some quality time with family and hang out with friends.

Because the season calls for family reunions and friendly get-togethers, we can seize the opportunity to share the love of Christ to our loved ones. The Christmas story is all about God’s master plan to save mankind, the humility of Jesus to be born in a place like a stable and be laid in a manger though he is God.

Everything we do-from tree decorations to salad garnishing, let’s not forget to bring up our Lord Jesus in our conversations-after all, He’s the reason for the season.

It is very possible to lose sight of what is really relevant for this festive season when we are often pre-occupied with everything else apart from spending time with Jesus Himself. Let’s remind the kids that Jesus came to earth for us and tell them why. Tell them we love Him because He first loved us. He loves us when we are good and even we are bad even though that makes Him very sad.

Let’s use this season to remind ourselves not to despise the small beginnings because it is from them that God blesses us into abundance. It also encourages us to hold fast to the promises of God over our lives.

There are a lot of lessons to learn from the Christmas story- a lot to instil in kids, encourage family and share with friends. Let’s make this Christmas Jesus centered, shall we?

Merry Christmas, God’s people!
