Roughly nine months ago, Idaho-based metal game changers The Ongoing Concept first unveiled “Failures & Fakes,” the lead single from their debut full-length album, Saloon, originally announced for release on January 8, 2013. The band had been gaining notoriety in the regional hardcore scene as a result of their first two EP’s and introduced a Kickstarter campaign to fund their upcoming full-length project. They were seemingly on the cusp of a very bright future but the anticipated release date came and went and it seemed as though the band had practically fallen off the face of the earth. Nothing was officially announced on their Facebook page although they did apologize to fans who were likely wondering what had happened, reassuring everyone that “Saloon” had only gotten pushed back and that a formal announcement would come in the near future. There was a long waiting period of almost half a year but, finally, on June 20th, The Ongoing Concept announced that they had signed with Solid State Records. Alongside this announcement they released their DIY music video for the song “Cover Girl”.
Since then, The Ongoing Concept has re-released “Failures & Fakes” in the form of a lyric video, but there is plenty more to come from the band. They’ve just released another music video for their song “Class of Twenty-Ten” which can be seen below.
“Class of Twenty-Ten” is the tenth track from the new album which contains eleven killer tracks of blistering metal. Packed full of chaos and intensity, one can hear the band’s influences yet, at the same time, draw something new from their sound. The Ongoing Concept is predicted to be the next big thing in the world of heavy music, so make sure you get in on the action by picking up “Saloon” which releases August 20th!
