Stockholm based duo Salt of the Sound, stepped into a previously untouched musical niche with the release of their debut album Journeys in 2013. Described as an, “unquestionably strong first album,” by Cross Rhythms and featured on BBC Radio, husband and wife Anita and Ben Tatlow now return with their new single “It Must Be Hope,” and give fans a taste of what can be expected from their sophomore EP later this year.
Combining their musical prowess to bring listeners closer to the presence of God in a corporate and private setting, the blend of Salt of the Sound’s signature electronic beats and harmonies ushers you into an introspective place of worship. With a sound that has previously been described as “ethereal” by CMAddict, the spine tingling delivery of “It Must Be Hope” envelops listeners almost instantly; the pure and beautiful piano based introduction paving the way for the Celtic vocals of Anita as she delivers a message of the truth and rest that can be found in Christ’s presence.
Singing, “And when I lose me, it finds me. It must be hope,” the couple extend an invitation to become lost in the presence of God. Communicating the safety and faithfulness found in this place of complete surrender, they challenge the worldly notion of belief in God through tangible evidence and instead urge listeners to spiritually dig deeper into Christ and embrace his revelation. The haunting vocals of the single mixed with contemporary beats and synths brings together unique and peaceful tones which drives this message into your heart as you hear their words.
Evocative and beautiful, “It Must Be Hope” is a stunning reflection of what it is to dwell in the presence of God. Salt of the Sound will endear listeners with their truthful and contemporary sound, making way for the release of more music in the coming months. With the addition of the B-Side “Where You Are,” this is a release not to be missed. Purchase your copy of the single It Must Be Hope now.
