Living Single in Faith, LLC, has announced plans for its upcoming 2015 Urban Singles Weekend Retreat, which will be held from September 25-27, 2015 at the Millennium Maxwell House Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. Focusing on the theme of “Embracing Faith with PEACE,” single adults of all cultures will have an opportunity to participate in a life-changing conference to increase their faith through prayer, fellowship, and commitment to God.
Founded in April 2009 with the sole purpose of helping singles to embrace their God-given purpose of making a difference in the world, Living Single in Faith, LLC seeks to reach out to singles of faith as well as those who are searching to know God. Previous Singles Weekend Retreats were held at Ridgecrest, North Carolina, but Living Single in Faith, LLC, founder JoAnn Scaife says it was an easy decision to move this year’s event to Nashville.
“Living Single in Faith, LLC is based in Nashville, which is such a cosmopolitan city with so much for singles to see and do, that it just made sense to move the Urban Singles Weekend Retreat here,” explains Scaife. “The city has embraced us with open arms, and the Maxwell Millenium Hotel & Resort is centrally located, offering attendees easy access to so much that Nashville has to offer, from museums to music to shopping and so many wonderful restaurants. When it came time to find the location for this year’s retreat, we didn’t have to look any further than our own back yard!”
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear encouraging messages by special guest speakers, including former NFL Titan player Chris Sanders; Terrence Schofield of Promise Keepers; Sharon Kay, General Manager of Jazzy 88.1 FM Radio; author Kimberly Camp; professional physical fitness trainer Linda Hayes; Willie McLaurin, Team Leader and Leadership Specialist for the Tennessee Baptist Convention; and Scaife.
The retreat is designed to help singles focus on getting rid of common distractions, such as bad love relationships, toxic friendships, anger, bitterness, disappointments and more, that keep people from experiencing true peace in life.
Breakout Sessions will include:
- Women-Only Breakout
- Men-Only Breakout
- Love Talk: Marriage Roundtable
- Living Healthy in Peace
- Embracing the Word of God with Peace
- The Power in Single Parenting: Peace in the Family
- Distractions: Why We Do What We Do
- Single Again: Loving God First
- Recognizing Important Relationships
- A new Single After Divorce session
- And more!
Special options include a Pool Party, Karaoke Night, A Walk Downtown, Pavilion Moment, LSIF Nightly Coffee House and much more! Attendees will also enjoy musical performances by California-based solo artist Kennieth Perrin and dynamic Nashville-based worship group Jah-Way, as well as a special showing of the surprise box office smash hit, God’s Not Dead.
“For the last seven years, we have been very intentional about reaching singles nationally through Living Single in Faith,” explains Scaife. “We realize that this market is unique and deserves attention. There are 105 million singles in the United States alone, according to the 2013 U.S. Census Bureau, and that encourages me. To paraphrase Jesus, the fields are ready for harvest.”
“I look forward to this event every year, because we have the unique opportunity to encourage, train and empower a new generation of passionate, intelligent, and loving individuals to embrace their God-given purpose of impacting our communities,” Scaife continues. “It is thrilling to watch our attendees discover the purpose for their lives while they are single, and by embracing that purpose, they develop into even more passionate and productive people, which results in fantastic relationships!”
