I woke up this morning and faced the reality that today was the last full day. I decided to make the most of today and push that out of my mind because I could afford to be sad at Camp Electric!

We missed breakfast due to an accidental sleep-in. Our dorm was cool with it though, since we needed as much sleep as we could get. Late nights at the dorm make for late wake-ups, I guess!

Bellarive was awesome as always. I admire the way they can get up there and rock the stage, yet sound SO good! Being up close is always a pleasure, and seeing as Melissa has become a friend of mine, I love seeing her up there, smiling from ear to ear!

After morning clinics we headed to Tom Jackson’s class, who has become one of my favorite parts of the day. There is something about his teaching process and the way he comes across that makes me really eager to learn more about what he’s saying. Tom is truly a shining light for people like me to look up to.

We had lunch afterwards. It was a rush from there to a B. Reith concert. If you haven’t checked this guy out, you need to. Right now. He is PHENOMENAL! Not only is he great on stage, but he is a person who is humble and very pleasant off stage.

Before I knew it, I was in Mike Donehey’s class (from MIKESCHAIR) and he had us come up and sing and then told us how we did and what we could fix. He answered any questions, told us about the songwriting process, and shared with us

Then there was dinner. I spent dinner with my friends Yaubryon and BJ. I missed them very much since last year, and meeting up with them again was a real pleasure. Although we don’t get to see each other often, when we do, we soak it all up. It’s an honor to know these people 🙂

My favorite part of the day was KJ-52’s concert. I made a poster which he absolutely loved. It had a Batman unicorn on it! KJ tore the house down. He has been a huge influence on me, and I’m grateful God put him in my life. It’s not everyday that you see your favorite rapper on stage but he also acknowledges your poster. The concert was ROCKIN’ AWESOME!

After Building 429 finished, I got to talk to KJ. He told me about how much it meant to him that I support him and that it’s nice to see me. He told me how he loved my poster and I couldn’t help but smile. He is a very big deal to me 🙂 Since when does that stuff happen?

Today was great. I am thankful for the chance to be back, I am happy to see KJ again, and reuniting with friends is always such a pleasure! My prayer is that God sends me to Camp every year if it’s His will. This is the best part of my year, and a lovely week to be in the presence of Jesus and of great people. Thank you God for this chance to be with people I love!

Xoxo,

Maddy
