The sweet tones of Kelly-Lynn McVey pushed her into the limelight at an early age, and she found herself singing for numerous companies including Walt Disney Records. Now at 24 years-old, the singer/songwriter has branched into a new chapter of life and has chosen to pen and master the deeply personal single “Seasons.” Saying, “I think most of us can relate to feeling so overwhelmed with problems in our life that it can be hard to catch a breath,” Kelly-Lynn highlights that, “Seasons” is a song of hope and a deep belief in the “Power of God.”
Opening as a piano based ballad, Kelly-Lynn’s strong vocals immediately drive home the sincerity of her message. It is evident that the lyrics are penned from her own life experience as she speaks of the fall and winter seasons of our lives. In this, there is a prevailing hope within the honesty of these lyrics as she encourages listeners to, “Just keep your roots planted deep in God,” during these times.
In many ways, Kelly-Lynn’s vocal delivery displays her time spent recording for notable companies. The light and shade of her voice and ability to deliver a soul stirring message make “Seasons” a beautiful and significant track that will have you compare her with the likes of Britt Nicole and Francesca Battistelli. Her capability to deliver a pop song that is accountable both to her personal experience and the Biblical truths of God’s faithfulness are commendable.
Overall, “Seasons” is an encouraging and bold track. Urging us to believe that “This season will change, I promise you,” we are reminded of God’s promise to make things new, even when life’s circumstances suggest otherwise. Kelly-Lynn McVey is a gem in the pop market, her integrity matching her beautifully crafted vocals. Grab your copy of “Seasons” now!
