We are all facing our individual challenges; some more difficult and complicated than others. But the good thing in belonging to a household of faith is the fellowship that dwells among the brethren. Life’s disappointments and hardships are not alien to Christians but through it all, we have one another. At least, that is how it is supposed to be.
Belonging to the Christian faith is all about being one in Christ, the Head of the church. The world will believe in our message if we are one. Unity is strength, as they say. How can we better show unity than to show love and support for one another?
“Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another” – Romans 12:10 (KJV).
We may have our differences but we must learn to love ourselves in spite of them all. In the era where misery and pain which come with daily bad news abound, we need to stick with one another, encourage one another when the times get rough and celebrate with others during the joyous moments. Let’s leave the hypocrisy and the backbiting to the world so those traits are not worth mentioning in our camp. Let the love we show among ourselves and to others be genuine and always forthcoming. Love and compassion are powerful enough to break down the strongest of barriers and the hardest of hearts. We can win the world over to Christ, one heart and one life at a time with love and compassion.
