Challenges. Obstacles. Problems. Hurdles. Whatever you call it, we all come face to face with problems. The question is, how do you handle it? Does it cause you to fold and throw in the towel? Or does it simply distract you from the mission set before you by God? Whatever the case, you don’t HAVE to give negative energy to those problems, because suffering is optional! YOU choose the perspective you take hold to and accept as your own, whether you choose God’s or the enemy’s is totally up to you! So is it possible that these problems can be beneficial to you? Yes, it is very possible and its exactly the way God wants us to view the situation!

Problems don’t come from God, because God is our Father, and he only wants the best for us. He does, however, allow the enemy to test us, so that our true character can be revealed , and addressed as an area where change is needed, if necessary. Job 1:8 says,” Then the LORD said to Satan, Have you considered my servant Job?  There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil”. Wow!! Did God just refer Job, an upright and faithful man, to satan, so that Job would fail? Not at all, for this is not the character of our father. God referred Job because he knew what blessings were in store for Job if he did not give in to the problems he would face, and would ultimately result in Job being even better off than he was before. Job already was blessed with a family, lots of land and plenty of animals, but God wanted to get MORE to Job.  So, Yes, God absolutely allowed satan to test Job by taking what was valuable to him. What satan designed to harm Job, was actually his blessing in disguise. Satan stole Job’s family and all he had to his name, and God not only returned everything that Job had lost, but God gave him double of everything he lost! Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. This is a very comforting scripture, because it assures us that no matter what the enemy places in your path, it will not be the last say-so. There is no situation or problem God isn’t aware of. If we just focus on God, sit back, and allow him to steer us, we can watch as God turns all the negativity into a tailor-made “stepping stool” that will thrust us into the will of God for our lives, and the abundance he has set up in heaven waiting on us.

Even if we were blindsided by the enemy and tricked into his schemes, God has the final verdict. Isn’t that exciting?!  Just as an eagle needs the winds to blow against it so that it can have the leverage to soar, we sometimes need the winds and rains to blow against us in our spiritual lives so that we can push through and make it to the next level. Without that obstacle, we may become content or stagnant, not realizing there is room for us to grow.

So thank God for the bumps in the road, and tell the enemy he is rendered powerless in your life the next time you are faced with trouble. It could very well be the breakthrough you have been waiting on, wrapped up in a not-so-pretty package called Adversity!
