Go Tell Somebody

Each day we’re blessed with is another day we’re given to get closer to the Lord and, every moment of free time we have is another moment we can use to get closer to Him.
The truth though is that we often breeze through our days fulfilling our own desires and satisfying ourselves without a second thought for the Lord. His desires for us and His being are often overshadowed; He is no longer number one.

We need to remember that God gave His one and only Son for us. He gave His Son to die for our sins so that we could have life.
It’s so easy for us to focus on our own desires whilst the Lord’s plans for us become smaller. It’s so easy for us to do our own thing and leave the Lord there standing, watching us get further and further away.
Let us therefore be careful how we live, not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because the days are:1 evil (Ephesians 55-16). They are so evil that we’re often so wrapped up in ourselves or technology that we don’t even realise when we’re being drawn away from Godliness. This is why it is important to evaluate and set our affections on the things of above and not on the things of this world (Colossians 3:2).

For me, this past week has been one of getting closer to the Lord; becoming more intimate with Him after a period of ‘close but not that close’.

I heard “Running Back To You” by Commissioned while listening to the radio this past week and catching the song at the chorus, the words hit me; “I am running back to you, I see you standing there for me; Your arms are open wide… You’re standing there for me and I am running back to You, why do I go away when I know I am no good when I’m on my own.

Whether you’re so far down the path that you don’t recognise the path you’re on or whether you’ve neglected your daily doings to getting closer to the Lord, “Running Back To You” is a beautiful song that reminds us just how precious our lives are and even more so how precious the man who gave His life for us is.
A timeless song by Commissioned, I pray that it will open your eyes to your current state and lead you to take action.
