Artist: Yolanda Adams
Track: Be Still
Album: Becoming

“Be Still” is a timeless classic by Yolanda Adams that speaks to all who listen, because the truth is, we have all been in a position where we get anxious and worry about life. We all know what it’s like to rush and be in a hurry and to think that we’re in a situation by ourselves. Sometimes we’re so caught up in it all that we just forget to be still. We forget that the Lord is by our sides; that He is always there just waiting for us to come near. It’s so easy to get caught up and this is what we’re reminded of as we’re told to “be still and know… I will never leave your side, I will never make you cry. You’ve got to know I already know the plans to make you thrive, give you hope and peace of mind; you must be still.”

This is such a blessed message that Yolanda Adams gives us.
Singing a message that not only touches the spirit but that can be held in the spirit, we’re told that our best is in His hands and that our success is in His plans. “With tenderness I speak to you, in restfulness I keep you. I wash your fears away so doubt can never stay, when I stand strong in you I give you power to renew but, you never take the time out to sit in silence and to find out; I’ve always been right here waiting on you to come near me.
“Be Still” is so personal it encourages us. It has encouraged me.

Let me tell you that this song has the power to embrace. You can’t listen to it without feeling the Lord’s presence.
This song resonates and it tells us what our relationship with the Lord is like and how it is supposed to be. Yes, it is easy to forget to be still but Yolanda Adams presents her vocals on this ballad to let you know He will never let you down. All you have to do is go to Him, hold on to His hand and rest in His arms. He will do the rest. All you have to do is Be Still.
