Just under two short years ago, the well known 5-piece metal band Demon Hunter released their sixth studio album, True Defiance. Now, only a month away from their next release Extremist, they have released the first single off the new record entitled “Artificial Light.” Extremist is the highly anticipated follow up album to True Defiance, their most aggressive album to date, and fans have been anxiously waiting to see where Demon Hunter take their own specific brand of metal music next. Now they have a glimpse of what’s to come…

The new single in question is entitled “Artificial Light” and it has been received by fans with mixed reactions to say the least. “Artificial Light,” as the chorus states, “Doesn’t break the model” too much as it sounds much like what we’ve come to expect from the band; It’s not the heaviest song, nor the lightest, but with all that being said, some fans feel “left in the dark.”

“Artificial Light” is accompanied by an interesting and very creative lyric video that features a lot of visual effects, and it’s easily apparent a lot of work went into the creation of the video itself. Created by a company called Online Revolution Design it features a room completely modeled in 3D. The company has done many lyric/music videos for BEC, Tooth &Nail and Solid State Records and some of the bands featured in their work reel cover Family Force 5, August Burns Red, Kutless, Seventh Day Slumber and many more.

Hopefully it won’t be too long until Demon Hunter releases another single, but, until then, fans do have an awesome track to rock out to.
