It’s been a couple of years since hardcore favorites Close Your Eyes released their last album, Empty Hands & Heavy Hearts, at the end of 2011. After Shane Raymond, the original lead vocalist, stepped down following its release, many fans were left wondering what would become of their beloved Abilene, Texas natives. Close Your Eyes initially found Michael Sawyer to fill in on vocals, but after two months of touring together, they decided Mikey wouldn’t be the best fit and, due to mainly creative differences, Close Your Eyes and Mikey mutually agreed to split. Close Your Eyes’ guitarist Brett Callaway took over the reins for the remainder of tour dates. All was quiet for quite some time thereafter, before the band finally announced that Sam Ryder (Robinson) was in the studio with them recording the vocals for the new album. Robinson is best known for his work with Canadian glam metallers Blessed By a Broken Heart as their rhythm guitarist and now vocalist. Close Your Eyes will release their third full-length studio album, Line in the Sand, in stores and online everywhere on October 29th through longtime label Victory Records. Check out the artwork below and get stoked for Line in the Sand.
